The Status of Racial and Ethnic Minorities in the Profession Committee recommends policies and good practices to assure the full access and academic freedom of racial/ethnic minority persons within the Academy and develops programs to enhance their status in the profession.

Annual Meeting Activities

  • Women's Mentoring Lunch
    • At each Annual Meeting, the committee co-sponsors the Women's Mentoring Lunch with the Status of Women in the Profession Committee (SWP). The lunch offers roundtable discussions on several topics of interest to scholars, with each table staffed by at least one mentor with relevant expertise. The lunch takes place on the Sunday of the Annual Meeting and requires a small fee, payable at the time of registration for the Annual Meeting, to cover a boxed lunch.
  • Special Topics Forum
    • The committee holds at least one Special Topics Forum at every Annual Meeting on a subject of concern to racial and ethnic minorities in religion.
