AAR Status Committee Caucus

Charge

The Status Committee Caucus is charged with fostering collaboration for intersectional work among the status committees and advising the board on best practices and policies to achieve this goal.

Caucus Composition

The Status Committee Caucus is chaired by the AAR Status Committee Director. The membership is comprised of the chairs of the four AAR status committees (Status of LGBTIQ+ Persons in the Professions Committee, Status of People with Disabilities in the Professions Committee, Status of Racial and Ethnic Minoritized People in the Professions Committee, Status of Women and Gender Minoritized Persons in the Professions Committee.) The AAR Executive Director serves as the staff liaison.

Meeting Schedule

The Status Committee Caucus meets virtually each quarter.

Duties and Responsibilities

• The caucus will collaborate to strengthen intersectional dialogue and programing within the AAR.
• The caucus will plan the bi-annual Status Committee Summit.
• In addition to the responsibilities outlined in the charge, the caucus may hold Special Topic Forums or sponsor programming at Annual Meetings or year-round.
