Claudia Schippert serves as the AAR’s Executive Director since August 2023. Previously, they were Associate Professor of Humanities at the University of Central Florida (Orlando, FL) for 22 years where they also directed several degree programs, including the Office of Interdisciplinary Studies (2015-17). Dr. Schippert’s research has been in queer theory, religion in America, and American Buddhism. Past publications include “Korean Buddhism in North America” in Gleig and Mitchell, eds. The Oxford Handbook of American Buddhism(2024), “Debating Gender as Choice” in Bauman and Stenmark, eds.
