Evan Sandsmark is the Publications Coordinator for the American Academy of Religion. He primarily works on AAR’s book review website, Reading Religion, editing reviews and managing their database of books, authors, reviewers, and publishers. He is also a postdoctoral researcher in theological ethics at the University of Vienna. He received his Ph.D. in religious studies from the University of Virginia in 2022. His academic work has appeared in the Journal of Religious Ethics, Modern Theology, and the European Journal for Philosophy of Religion, and he has also written public-facing work for the Washington Post, Haaretz, Political Theology Network, and the Virginian-Pilot, among other publications.
