The AAR is saddened to share that William D. Stroker, former Department of Religious Studies chair at Drew University in Madison, N.J., died last week. Known to friends as “Bill,” he was an active member of the AAR and described as “a walking library” possessing a wealth of knowledge on everything from basketball to taxes. He was best known for his book, the Extra Canonical Sayings of Jesus (Scholar’s Press, 1989).
