The AAR is saddened to share that Barbara Ann Holmes, former president of United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities and vice president of academic affairs at Memphis Theological Seminary, passed away Oct. 15. Dr. Holmes was a committed activist, ordained in both the United Church of Christ and Christian Church, and the author of “Joy Unspeakable: Contemplative Practices of the Black Church.”
