AAR-OUP Academy Series
Inquiries and Submissions
The Academy Series is devoted to publishing first books by early career researchers and scholars in the field of religious studies, including books that originate as dissertations. The series seeks to reflect the full range of cultural areas and methodological approaches in the field, with special attention to the areas published by Oxford University Press.
To be eligible for consideration, manuscripts must be the first book by an author.
To be considered, a full book proposal per the guidelines from Oxford University Press must be submitted with two letters of recommendation, recommendations for reviewers, and a current curriculum vitae to the series editor. The recommendation letters should address the following questions:
- To what measure is the manuscript or book proposal technically competent?
- Why is it a genuine contribution to scholarship within its field?
- Why is it of sufficiently wide interest to be suitable for publication in book form?
- The letter should also contain at least three suggestions for readers who are competent to review the work.
Inquiries and nominations should be addressed to the series editor:
