About the Event

Religious Studies departments routinely use regular external reviews as an opportunity both to educate home colleagues and administrators about the nature of our field, as well as to envision or argue for potential areas of growth or change in the curriculum. The current climate in the humanities, and higher education more broadly, renders this regular administrative procedure fraught with anxiety. Barnard College Professor of Religion (and regular external reviewer) Elizabeth Castelli will help us consider how to make the most of our reviews, from preparation to culmination.

This webinAAR is part of a series of Academic Relations Committee (ARC) remote sessions that are offered each month; all these meetings tackle topics of direct relevance to the success of a department and each session is recorded and posted on the committee’s page at the AAR site.
