About the Event

We all strive for accessible online courses, but achieving this can often feel daunting due to time constraints, technical complexities, or limited institutional support. Too often, accessibility features are implemented reactively, rather than being an integral part of our initial course design.

However, with the rapid integration of AI into everyday applications and the increasing ease of accessing AI interfaces, a new opportunity has emerged. We can now proactively design courses that are more accessible for all students from the very beginning.

This webinAAR will explore practical methods for leveraging AI to enhance the accessibility of your online courses. We’ll cover both content accessibility (including images, documents, and videos) and course design (focusing on layout and formatting). Our discussion will also align with the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) 3.0 standards, building upon the concepts introduced in our previous inclusive pedagogy webinar on July 25.

Participants will have the chance to explore AI tools for their own courses, share valuable tips and tricks with peers, and engage in a Q&A session to address their specific questions about AI tools and their application in creating accessible learning environments.

Please watch an intro video from Nick Shrubsole ahead of the webinAAR.
