About the Event
Freedom of religion emerged as a central American ideal during the founding era and was later protected in the Constitution through the First Amendment. How does that founding vision hold up 250 years later? On Tuesday, May 19, Religion News Service and NPR’s 1A show invite you to a live conversation exploring that question.
RNS Events Host Niala Boodhoo, who guest hosts the Friday News Roundup on NPR’s 1A, will be joined by RNS National Reporter Jack Jenkins and constitutional scholar Jeffrey Rosen, CEO Emeritus of the National Constitution Center.
Jenkins covers the intersection of religion and politics for RNS and is the author of “American Prophets.” Rosen is a professor at the George Washington University Law School and the author of “The Pursuit of Liberty.”
This is a free event, but registration is required to attend live.
