The Engaging Particularities Conference is an annual graduate student conference hosted by the Theology Department at Boston College, particularly organized by students in comparative theology. It is one of the longest-running conferences in North America that focuses on interreligious dialogue and comparative theology.

In March 2026, Engaging Particularities XXIII will be held under the theme “Comparative Theology and Education.” We invite reflections on how comparative theology can shape educational practices, foster empathy, and address pressing issues such as religious intolerance, cultural misunderstanding, and the marginalization of minority voices. Some exceptional presentations will be awarded $200 and considered for publication in The Journal of Interreligious Studies.
