Divine Devices: Religion and Emergent Technologies of Wonder, Enchantment, and Mediation is an online international workshop that will take place on October 30, 2025. It brings together scholars exploring how emerging technologies, such as AI systems, robots, and novel digital media, intersect with religious practice, imagination, and authority. The event focuses on the material, sensory, and affective dimensions of these interactions, asking how technologies mediate sacred presence, elicit enchantment, and generate trust or suspicion.
We welcome interdisciplinary contributions addressing these questions.
