Annual Meeting Travel Grants

About

Every spring, the AAR awards 25 travel grants of $500 each and complimentary registration to that year's November Annual Meeting to members who demonstrate both financial need and a desire to participate in the November Annual Meeting. Grants are awarded on a competitive basis. Special consideration will be given to applicants from underrepresented minorities. View a list of past winners.

Criteria

  • Current AAR membership at the time of application and throughout the grant period. Preference will be given to applicants with consistent membership, a record of attending Annual Meetings, and a history of contributions to the work of the AAR.
  • Current status as a contingent, graduate student, un/underemployed, or retired member with financial need
  • Lack of access to sufficient institutional or external funding

Grants will not be given to the same individuals who have been awarded travel grants in the past three years.

Applicants cannot be awarded more than one travel grant in a particular year.
