About AAR

  • How do I contact AAR Staff?
    On the navigation menu, select About AAR, scroll down and click Governance and Staff and then select Staff to view the staff roster. You can email a staff member directly from their contact card.
  • Where can I find a list of the AAR Board of Directors?
    On the navigation menu, select About AAR, scroll down and click Governance and Staff and then select Board of Directors to view the board roster.
  • Where can I find a list of all the AAR Committees and Working Groups?
    On the navigation menu, About AAR, click on Governance and Staff, then click Committees and Working Groups.
  • How do I join a Committee/Working Group?
    There is an annual call for nominations for all committees during which time you can be nominated or nominate yourself to join a committee/working group. The President of the Board of Directors, in consultation with the Executive Director and committee chairs, makes all appointments to AAR committees/working groups.

  • Where can I find information about the Annual Meeting?
    Go to the Events & Networking page, click on Annual Meeting.

Communities

  • What are Communities?
    Communities provide an interactive experience where members can connect, collaborate, and communicate in a secure and trusted online setting.
  • What can you do in the Communities?
    In the Communities environment, you can engage with other AAR members who are connected to your communities. Within each Community, you can participate in discussion forums, access shared documents, and chat with other members.
  • How do I access my Communities?
    Sign in to your member account and from the left-side menu options, click on Communities and a list of the Communities that you have access to will appear on the right.

Member Directory

  • Where can I find the AAR Member Directory?
    On the Events & Networking page, click on Member Directory. You will be required to sign into your member account to access the directory:
  • How do I add myself to the Member Directory?
    Sign in to your member record/account, click on the Preferences tab. Under Member Directory Settings, switch to edit mode by clicking on the pencil icon on the right, check the box next to Include in Member Directory.
  • How do I remove myself from the Member Directory?
    Sign in to your member record/account, click on the Preference tab. Under Member Directory Settings, switch to edit mode by clicking on the pencil icon on the right, uncheck the box next to Include in Member Directory.

Membership

  • How do I access my member account?
    Everyone is required to follow a new process to sign in to your member account for the first time:
    • Current Members:
      • On AARWeb.org, click the Sign In button at the top right of the page
      • Click the Forgot password link on the sign-in page
      • You will be prompted to enter your Username, which will now be the email address associated with your AAR account
      • You will then receive an email with a link to create a new password
      • If you would like to change your Username to a different email address, please contact us at [email protected]
    • Lapsed Members
      • On AARWeb.org, click the Sign In button at the top right of the page. If your membership has lapsed, you will need to follow the steps below to sign in to your account on the new website for the first time:
        • Click the Forgot username link on the sign-in page
        • You will be prompted to enter your email address; this should be the email address associated with your AAR account, which will now become your Username
        • Refresh the sign-in page
        • Click the Forgot password link
        • You will be prompted to enter your Username (your email address)
        • You will then receive an email with a link that will allow you to create a new password and then sign in
        • If you would like to change your username to a different email address, please contact us at [email protected].
  • What if I forgot my password after I have signed in for the first time?
    • From the member sign-in page:
      • Click on the Forgot password link
      • You will be prompted to enter your username (your email address)
      • You will then receive an email with a link that will allow you to create a new password and then sign in.
  • How do I renew my membership?
    Click the Join/Renew button in the top navigation and follow the steps to renew your membership.

Publications and News

  • How do I submit a member note?
    To submit a member note, go the Publications & News page, scroll down to the Visit the Newsroom button to submit your item.
  • Where is the member note that I submitted posted?
  • You can find recent member notes in the Newsroom feed, which is on the Homepage and the Publications & News page. You can also use the search bar at the top of any page to locate your member note.
  • Where can I find the latest news from AAR?
    AAR’s latest newsfeed is displayed under Newsroom on the Homepage and also on the Publications & News page.

Resources

  • How do I access the employment listings on AAR’s job board?
    A link to our employment listings can be found on the Resources page on the website. The link will send you to the AAR and SBL Employment Services site where you can sign in to access listings.
  • Where can I find career tips?
    Under Publications & News on the navigation menu, select Guides and Best Practices to take a look at our Career Guides.
  • Where can I find tips on writing paper proposals or making presentations at the Annual Meeting?
    Under Publications & News on the navigation menu, select Guides and Best Practices to view AAR Annual Meeting resources.
  • Where can I find AAR’s grant programs on the new website?
    Under About AAR, select Grant Programs for details about funding opportunities for AAR members.
  • Where can I find webinars, podcasts, recordings of Annual Meeting sessions, or recordings of Book Interviews?
    Go to the Resources page, and click on Webinars and Podcasts.

Other Questions

  • How do I make a donation to the AAR?
    At the top of any page, click Support AAR. If you are an AAR member, sign in to your Member Account for a direct way to make a donation.
  • Does AAR accept mail-in donations?
    Yes. You can complete a printable donation form and mail it along with your gift to the AAR office.
