Annual Meeting Travel Grants

About

Every spring, the AAR awards 25 travel grants of $500 each and complimentary registration to that year's Annual Meeting to members who demonstrate both financial need and a desire to participate in the Annual Meeting. Grants are awarded on a competitive basis. Special consideration will be given to applicants from underrepresented minorities. View a list of past winners.

Criteria

  • Current membership in the AAR. Preference will be given to applicants with consistent membership, a record of attending Annual Meetings, and a history of contributions to the work of the AAR.
  • Financial need:
    • Current status as a contingent, graduate student, un/underemployed, or retired member with financial need
    • Lack of access to sufficient institutional or external funding
    • Grants will not be given to the same individuals who have been awarded grants in the past three years
