Summary

Current challenges to the humanities are shared across schools large and small, public and private. This WebinAAR provides an opportunity to receive an update on how humanities programs are doing at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) with valuable insights from Regine Jackson, Dean of the Humanities, Social Sciences, Media, and Arts Division at Morehouse College, who will offer a broad assessment of the current state of liberal arts education as well as the role of the study of religion at an HBCU.

This is part of a monthly webinar series of AAR’s Relations Committee (ARC); all of these meetings tackle topics of direct relevance to the success of a department (comprised of a 30-minute interview with the guest and then a 30-minute open Q&A for those attending the session). The interview portion of each webinar is recorded and eventually posted on the ARC page on the AAR site.
