Calls for Papers   

  • Pandemic Reflections: Saint Francis and the Lepers Catch Up with COVID - "With the viral threat having passed its peak, reflections upon COVID’s legacy are called for. How did we live and how ought we to have lived during COVID? What did COVID reveal or reshape with regard to what we value? This collection will reflect upon such questions by way of reference to Saint Francis of Assisi; even more specifically, by way of examining Francis’ embrace of and subsequent service to lepers." Fellowships, Grants, and Further Scholarship    

  • Virtues in the Public Square - ReligionAndPublicLife.org is offering a twelve-hour multimedia course for college students to take at their homes any time between August 29 to September 25, 2022. You will explore seven virtues—wisdom, justice, courage, temperance, humility, generosity, and friendship—through the lens of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The curriculum translates the classical traditions of virtue for modern audiences. (Deadline: June 15, 2022)
  • PRRI (Public Religion Research Institute) Public Fellows Program - As a part of PRRI's Religion and Renewing Democracy Initiative, the organization is seeking applicants whose research agendas align with one of four principal vectors of PRRI's ongoing work: 1) religious, racial, and ethnic pluralism; 2) racial justice and white supremacy; 3) immigration and migration studies; and 4) LGBTQ rights. In each area of scholarship, PRRI will select four Public Fellows. (Deadline: June 15, 2022)
  • AAR Regional Development Grants - Regional Development Grants provide funds for special projects within the regions that promise to benefit the scholarly and professional life of AAR members and do the work of the AAR in the regions. (Deadline: July 1, 2022)
