Committee on the Public Understanding of Religion
Charge: The Public Understanding of Religion Committee fosters attention to the broad public understanding of religion and the role of religion in public life. This charge is principally achieved by developing ways to make the expertise of scholars in religion available to the media and the public.
Composition: Up to six members.
Term of Office: For appointments prior to 2011, three years, renewable once. After 2011, four years, non-renewable.
